Elisa Galvan is an illustrator and comic author based in Mexico City. Born into a Mexican family of chemists and researchers in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, Elisa moved to Mexico with her parents at the age of 2. Her passion for creating characters and fantasy worlds dates back to her early days, and it was the impact of watching Studio Ghibli’s “Princess Mononoke” that encouraged her to pursue an artistic career.

She studied Design and Visual Communication at the Faculty of Arts and Design of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), receiving the Gabino Barrieda Medal as the top student in her generation. Upon receiving her bachelor’s degree, she honed her concept art skills at the Schoolism Imaginism In-House Workshop in Montreal, where her art style evolved, opening new professional opportunities.

Beyond illustration, Elisa finds joy in movies, forest hiking, cooking, reading horror stories, and playing The Legend of Zelda videogames. When seeking inspiration, she turns to the works of artists like Heikala, Craig Thompson, Rosemary Valero O’Connell, and Valerie Lin.

Below are some of Elisa's recent projects, Pirrana, The Mist, Casse-Tête, Ella Se Siente A Veces... Una historia de Alaíde Foppa (UNAM), and Hipocrónicas (Kamite).
