During the ‘70’s in his native Liverpool, Mick played guitar in a number of bands, including The Glass Torpedoes and Nightmares in Wax, with whom he made a couple of records. As the insecurity of a musician’s life became more and more apparent, his interest in art grew, and he began studying art and design. This eventually led him to the Liverpool School of Art, from which he received Honours in Illustration in 1989. His lively ink and watercolor work has proven very popular with many publishers, and he has illustrated over 250 books. One of his largest projects recently was the interior illustrations for a 45-book series called Puppy Patrol (Macmillan UK), which to date has sold nearly 2 million copies.
