Nan grew up in Cape May, New Jersey, and studied advertising design at the University of the Arts (formerly PCA) in Philadelphia. Working first as a package designer, she soon moved on to freelance illustration. Her colorful and whimsical style lends itself equally to books for young children, such as her popular Little Golden Book, Princess and the Pea, and to broader-range illustrations with mythical themes, inspired to some extent by her interest in Eastern religions. Nan now lives outside of Chicago and enjoys gardening, traveling, and going to the opera.|
Below are some of her recent projects, My Basket of Blessings: and many reasons to thank God by Mary Manz Simon (Standard Publishing), The Unicorn Princess by Megan Bryant (Running Pr Book Pub), Make New Friends (Soundprints Corp Audio), My Little Christmas Tree: And Other Christmas Bedtime Stories written by Chip Davis and Michael O'Rourke (American Gramaphone). The Nutcracker Story Book Set and Advent Calendar (Workman Publishing Company), Sticker Stories Cinderella (Grosset And Dunlap), Go Back to Bed! by Tracey V. Williams (Peppertree Press), and Noah and the Ark (Reader's Digest Children's Books).
