Both fine artist and illustrator, with degrees in each from Syracuse University, Susan has had her paintings shown in both juried group shows and several one-person shows. She has had illustration commissions from numerous children's book publishers, both educational and trade. Susan lives in Syracuse with her husband Seth and their young daughters, Sara and Emma. As an involved inner city resident, she devotes time to neighborhood children and has donated her artwork to support causes that benefit them.

Shown below are some of her children's books, Sunday's Wheels by Susan Keeter (Anmboba Sunday), Your Happy Heart by Amie Dean (Natl Center for Youth Issues), An Apple for Harriet Tubman by Glennette Tilley Turner, Phillis Sings Out Freedom: The Story of George Washington and Phillis Wheatley by Ann Malaspina (Albert Whitman & Co.), Honey Baby Sugar Child by Alice Faye Duncan (Simon & Schuster Books), Tippy Lemmey by Patricia C. McKissack (Aladdin), Darnell Rock Reporting & Me, Mop, and the Moondance Kid both written by Walter Dean Myers (Yearling), and Waiting For Benjamin: A Story about Autism by Alexandra Jessup Altman (Albert Whitman).
